The Heytesbury Agricultural show was recently held in south west Victoria with an enthusiastic group of Illawarra Breeders participating in a combined Breeds dairy show. The judge was Ebony Churchill from South Australia.
Rick and Kristie Bailey of Rubyvale Illawarras were successful with their recent purchase, Eagle Park Anticipation Pamela 4221 winning the dry heifer class. They also took out second place in this class with their entry Rubyvale Primula 2. Rubyvale Pingerly Buttercup won the yearling class and was also named Reserve Junior Champion. The Baileys also won the calf class with their entry Rubyvale Prides Laurel.
Ashley Church won the heifer under eighteen months class with her entry sired by Silverleigh Maxima, Bubblefrost Maxima Diamond.
Roger and Amanda Heath of Amor Illawarras had a successful day with Amor Viscount Cocktail winning the over four years in milk class and going on to win Senior Champion Cow. Her twin sister Amor Viscount Cocktail 2 was also shown and stood beside her placing second in the cow over four years in milk class and winning Reserve Senior Champion Cow. Amor Viscount Cocktail was also named Honourable Mention cow in the interbreed show. The Heath family was also successful in the heifer classes, winning Junior Champion with their entry Amor Empire Ruth. They were also named Most Successful Exhibitor of the Combined Breeds dairy show.
