A split showing schedule at Toowoomba Royal meant the dry heifers were judged on Thursday, April 7 and the in milk animals on Friday April 8. Another change meant that Supreme judging occurred at the end of each section. It will be interesting to hear feedback both from exhibitors and spectators on these changes.
The 2016 Judge, Kelvin Cochrane from Dagun, was presented with over 50 Illawarras. His juvenile champion, White Park Roseleaf 142 (M & G Henry) went on to be named Supreme Champion Juvenile. His Reserve Champion Juvenile, Myrtleholme Lauren 17, came from the youngest class, 6mths & U12 mths, and was exhibited by the Bourke Family.
Junior Champion went to Myrtleholme Empress 60 ET (Winganna Handsome Tulip) also exhibited by the Bourke Family with Henry’s picking up Reserve with Tara Daffodil 48. Silverleigh Anita 70 (D Priebbenow) was named Honourable Mention.
The Priebbenow Family’s Silverleigh Robina 14 took the top honour of Champion Cow with Myrtleholme Worth Ladybird 2 in Reserve and Jondene Velda 7 as Honourable Mention.
