The Mountain Farm Sale held on June 11 saw a large number of attendees making standing outside the shed normal for some. Cattle were bought into SA and a number of New South Wales areas including Central West, Mid Rivers, Shoalhaven, Bega and locally at Jamberoo.
The top priced animal, Lot 14 Mountain Farm Bangle 2, went to Ellen Downes for $2700. Bangle descends back to the Gwandalan Park stud. As well as Bangle, Ellen purchased a number of other animals.
A cow that Johnny Downes has had a bit of fun with in the show ring, Mountain Farm Inka 3 (Lot 13), was the second priced animal at $2600 and went to Bob McKinnon. Inka descends back to Harley Creek Inka 7.
Local farmers, the Wilson Family and Col Faye, each bought a handful of animals as did Shane Debraciny from the Mid Rivers area. Shane bought a good age mix of animals with which to start his Illawarra stud. Greg Osborne also bought a line of fresh heifers.
75 cows sold for an average of $1036 with a total of 100 animals selling at an average $964.
