This year's Malanda Show saw a battle between two prominent North Queensland studs, Eachamvale and Odaleigh.
Odaleigh (Michael Daley) had the edge in the junior heifer classes, taking out both the Junior Champion with Class 3 winner, Odaleigh Jess 5 and the Reserve Champion with Class 4 winner, Odaleigh Chrissy 9.
As the age of the animals progressed, so did Eachamvale's (Greg and Bronwyn English) success.
Eachamvale Daphne 58 was awarded Champion Uddered Heifer under 3 yrs and Champion Intermediate Heifer. Reserve Champion Intermediate Heifer went to another Eachamvale animal, Eachamvale Cindy 3.
Eachamvale went on to win all but one senior class. Class 11, Cow dry 3 yrs & under 4 yrs went to C, RH & RJ Davis with Creighton Park Marquess Faith.
The Senior Udder went to Eachamvale Cindy which also won Class 13 - 3yrs and under 4 yrs in milk but she was piped for Champion Cow by Class 16 - Cow in milk, 7 yrs & over - winner, Vuegon Daisy 3 also exhibited by Greg and Bronwyn English.
Panorama Landmark exhibited by Greg and Bronwyn English won Champion Bull with Michael Daley's Odaleigh Nuclear Rampage taking out Reserve.
Supreme Illawarra Exhibit also went to Vuegon Daisy 3.
Judge, Robbie Radel of Happy Valley Stud, Biggenden, congratulated exhibitors on a fine display of animals as did Atherton Tableland Club President, Robert Davis.
Robert also thanked Dairy Express for sponsoring the Exhibitor's Breakfast saying it was a great way of bringing all the exhibitors and their supporters together. Special thanks also went to the Dairy Maid, Miss Cherie Davis, who did a wonderful job and looked terrific. Robert added his congratulations to all the young paraders who took part in the Children's Calf Class. They all did a professional job with Cherie Davis being declared the winner with Jerry English taking out second spot.
