Chairman of the Production Committee, Geoff Cochrane, has reported that the past twelve months has been another very good year for records with the Committee recently ratifying records for three South Australian cows, not bad for the driest state of the driest continent on earth.
Ian and Julie Mueller's prominent show cow, Glenbrook Venus 19, set a record on her first lactation and now has set a S3 milk and protein record with 13023 litres 4.3% 565 kgs Fat 3.2% 413 kgs protein.
The Altmann family's Blackwood Park Buttercup 225 by Royal Treble has set a new J2 record for milk, fat and protein with 14108 litres 3.5% 496 kgs Fat 3.2% 451 kgs protein. Her dam Blackood Park Buttercup 221 has previously broken milk records for J3 and J4.
Blackwood Park Laurel 6129 by Rampage has set a new J4 milk record with 14942 litres 3.5% 519 kgs fat 3.0% 445 kgs protein.
